This was my submition in Wyrd's Rotten harvest contest. I was lucky enough to win first place in the Harrowing harvest contest and the Best base/dio category. Skullcrafts leaf scatter and dead soil used, so thanks for the great products James!




I just finished this next one tonight. "RuBar" is the name of my buddies bar he has in his "man basement" so I made this from him. He's a hommie from back in the day, maybe 5th grade so I'm stoked to give him some of my best work. I got to bust out the airbrush and play with fiskuts for the first time, couple different types of masking and blah blah blah... (303 was our area code in Denver) Just a bit of Skullcrafts leaves and water effects used on this one.

   PeteRock, I don't know if my words can accurately describe just how much joy I have right now. Knowing that I played a hand in those two dioramas, it's as if I feel a sense of pride. Of course, I'm just targetting the materials you used to decorate them and not the other huge amounts of work you put in. I mean, I can't even begin to describe how impressed I am with your abilities with not only a paintbrush, but the airbrush as well. And may I point out that all of the entries (for Rotten Harvest V) were pretty damn good...just none of them matched the intensity of yours. It's the little details that stack up to a larger picture that you have wonderfully portrayed here in both dios.

I'd have to say, I got back into painting about a year and half ago, and since It has consumed my life, lol. I just enjoy this kinda stuff, bottom line.

Bout a year ago I ordered your fall basing kit and BAM! stocked up my useable materials in one purchase. Fully stocked me for what I needed. As I've grown so has my need for more materials and the demand on my bits box and my basing box. BAM Steampunk kit, tons more bits and goodies.

For someone like me who isn't necessarily the best painter, I really strive to improve the things I CAN control: setting, feel, balance, colors, mood, etc. Like you said "It's the little details that stack up to a larger picture that you have wonderfully portrayed here in both dios." (thanks!) But thats exactly it. Pardun the pun but it is the LITTLE things that really sell it.

So... I'm glad to hear you find joy in seeing my work. You should, you helped. I know you put just as much work and pride into your products as I do in my projects and without your little accents and additions, my work would be <meh>. You should have seen the Rotten Harvest before all the leaves... totally meh, the leaves sold the setting and season!

WOW!!!! Pete both of those are completely stellar!! I have been MIA for a while and lurking a bit here and there when I get the chance.......seems less and less these days. But I just had to sign on and tell you how simply inspiring these were to see!! Once again fantastic job and keep it up!!!

Iron painter #7 is in full swing over at Wyrd. Round one was due Yesterday, so here is my first entry. We get two weeks to do something for the theme:
"My Hero"

This is gift for my brother-in law to congratulate him on his first child and son. Hopefully he can be his hero, as I think fatherhood is all about that sort of thing.
The father has protected his son from the spider and now they can both enjoy a great moment in this relationship: The first beer together.
