So I've sold off a bunch of old GW minis on ebay and am ready to buy one. I'm looking at this setup but was wondering if anyone here knows much about them. I know nothing more than I've read in the past 2 days. From my research this should be a pretty nice setup.

Thanks

Well to be fair, I don't know what you will be using the airbrush for. Therefor, I can't really say if this is a good deal or not. It does appear that it's a fairly well put together "all in one" kit. For canvas and other more traditional mediums, I'd say the iwata Eclipse is moret han adequate. If you're looking to use it to paint hobby related stuff, I think you'll find you overshot quality by a landslide. You will be able to have absolute control of painting terrain with the Eclipse. It also performs wonderfully when applying basecoats on minis. However, don't expect perfection with minis under the 54mm range.

Overall: excellent performer for most things hobby related, not to be used for miniature details.

Right on, thanks.
At this point I just want something to help me spray a table I'm going to build for Malifaux. Some terrain features as well. Fun art stuff with friends and nephews, etc. I'm not expecting to use it to often with the minis I've been painting, but maybe dio's and complex bases I'm starting to do. Surely not expecting to replace the bristtles with it.

Are there other/better brushes more suited to mini's themselves? Some super tiny thing or adjustable micro heads or somerthing?

A good friend of mine has a really high quality airbrush with teeny tiny needle nozzles, and it still won't really work nicely for all the details on a 30 mm fig. But I'd also really like one, to do terrain and buidlings and such, would be really cool. I'll ask him what kind of airbrush he has, brand etc and let you know. Or d'you buy one already?

I've already purchased the airbrush and already forgot about it. hehe. I just don't use it as much as I thought I would. But, it does the perfect job when I do need it.

this one should do the trick!

you can do basic highlighting and shading with this one and paint entire tanks but that's about it. great airbrush for a great price.

Thanks, but as I said, I've already purchased my airbrush. It's great and I finally picked a project that I can use it on. I'll be posting pics in a day or two. Oh crap, just remembered I forgot to clean it out...  shame
